You will learn how to handle chicken by understanding the safety and hygiene around it. You will also learn what to look for when buying chicken. One of the greatest fears people have in the kitchen is handling and cooking chicken. This course aims to remove those fears and give you the confidence of cooking chicken in your kitchen.
You will learn how take a whole chicken and butcher it however you desire. That could be a classic jointing, creating a chicken supreme, skinning a whole chicken and the greatest skill, deboning a whole chicken. You will also learn how to prepare it such as mincing it, dicing it, butterflying it and trussing it. By the end of this course you will be a guru.
You will learn a number of essential cooking techniques such as pan frying, braising, stir frying, roasting and more. Each technique leads to very different results. You will learn how preparing chicken in different ways determines how you will cook it, which in turn determines the kind of dish that you will end up with. It's all in the planning.
Finally, you will learn to make some amazing food with everything you have learnt previously in the course. Not only will you cook chicken but you'll learn lots of other techniques such as making a béchamel sauce, mayonnaise, Italian tomato sauce, coleslaw, duxelles, crushed feta potatoes and much more.
